Autumn is a magical time of year here in the Forest of Dean, gold and red line the river and spread throughout the forest, the area comes to life as if welcoming the darker evenings and wintry months to come. Its a great time of year to wrap up warm and get out on the water with our friendly professional staff to cruise through the stunning scenery for a few hours.
The route we take is can be subject to change due to river levels (the higher the levels the faster we travel) probably the most popular 3/4 day trip from Kerne Bridge to Symonds Yat (but may be extended to start at Ross if river levels are high)which is an awesome route running under Yat Rock view point and taking about 2.5 hours to complete on the water.
We provide everything you need including barrels to keep you valuables dry and safe and we stop for approximately 45 mins for a packed lunch (not provided).
Our guides are the best in the area and will take care of you and teach you a few paddling techniques on route.
The trip is run in open canoes and although we can book odd numbers of people in as we have 3 person canoes you will need to book 2 or more persons at a time, we can also raft canoes together for those who prefer to rule out the option of a swim but you must have at least 4 persons in your group to do this.
We will adhering to current government guide lines and customers will be required to sign our activity forms which will ensure that they have not demonstrated any signs of COVID-19 in the past 14 days.
We will be meeting in Ross at 10.30am (there is a pay and display car park close to the canoe launch) and we will be running shuttle buses to run just the drivers of cars back to Ross to collect their cars after the trip (please wear a mask when in the bus).
